In the 1930's, Sir Edward Cunard (1891-1962) acquired this magnificent property and had the Great House constructed. Today, you can find the facilities Reception and Concierge services in the Great House, as well as a health club for those that feel the need to hit the gym while on holiday.
What was once Glitter Bay Hotel is now a group of privately owned condos and villas in paradise. These apartments and villas can be rented for extended periods of time and are popular with honeymooners and families with children alike. The accommodations are luxurious and fully equipped.
If you choose to relax on the beach, there are towels, lounge chairs (with mattresses), and umbrellas available each morning bright and early. For the more adventurous, you can enjoy water skiing, sailing, snorkeling and diving.
Of course, there is the spectacular, sugary beach on the turquoise Caribbean Sea with its many activities; but, for those who are so inclined, Glitter Bay Barbados also offers a resort swimming pool with a children's pool. Concierge services are also available. If you choose to stay at the lap of luxury during the winter travel season, there is a small bar open during the day for refreshing beverages or a light lunchtime snack.
For the golfer, the Glitter Bay is also close to Royal Westmoreland and Sandy Lane golf courses.
